Tree Journal -> Tree Reconstructed
A mixed media original artwork composed entirely of hand-carved tree bark pieces and tall grass.

Tree Reconstructed Series
What remains after a tree is gone?
When a tree dies, its bark separates into fragments, each carrying the texture and history of the whole. Tree Reconstructed gathers these scattered pieces and assembles them into a new form—an exploration of memory, renewal, and the possibility of wholeness once again.
The Process:
Each piece of bark was carefully selected, shaped by hand, and attached to the canvas. Tall grasses were woven throughout the bark to add texture and strengthen the connection to the natural world. Layers of paint, adhesive, and subtle highlights were gradually built up over time, allowing the materials to retain their organic character while becoming part of a cohesive composition.
Extending beyond the frame, the reconstructed bark stretches the canvas itself, dissolving the boundary between artwork and nature.

Tree Reconstructed 1.0 - Original
This original version of Tree Reconstructed began with a simple question: how much of a tree could become part of a painting?
By incorporating bark and grass, directly into the canvas, the work evolved into something living.
