Tree Journal -> Winters Wonder

Fish Creek Park winter landscape — original photo reference and TreeCraft mixed media interpretation featuring cedar bark and natural texture.
Winters Wonder
The creek had begun its quiet transformation. In that stillness, texture became the language of the landscape.
Inspiration
Winter stills the creek, turning its shallow waters into etched patterns of ice. Leaning trees and fallen logs rise through the frozen surface like remnants of an ancient battle, while fresh snow traces their forms and draws the eye.
Like a sheet of glass, I gaze into the dark, frozen waters. The emptiness of the creek stares back at me, quietly calling me to paint its beauty.

Original Photo and Reflection
This is a place I visit often. The logs emerging from the frozen creek first caught my eye — their color set against a landscape held in stillness. Snow traced each edge with a quiet gentleness.
